About Us

We are a community that knows the love of God, which He demonstrated through the gracious giving of His Son, Jesus Christ, who is also at the center of our church’s identity and mission.

The two GCs given by Jesus – the Great Commandment and the Great Commission – serve as the basis of our church’s mission statement.

Love God Make Disciples

Our Mission & Vision

Compelled by our love for God in response to his love for us, we want to carry out the mission that Christ has entrusted to his church.

We want to engage the community by being in their midst and serving them, evangelise the lost by sharing the Gospel with people near and far, and establish the faith of the saints which means to build each other up so that we can know God more clearly, trust him more wholeheartedly, love him more deeply and obey him more faithfully. We want to be equipped for kingdom’s work so that we can grow in our effectiveness in doing the work of engaging, evangelising and establishing.

If we faithfully pursue the mission, we will grow to become like Christ in his being and doing. The Triune God is a community of love; the fruit of the Spirit is love. When love is the compelling force or the undergirding motivation for us to carry out our mission, we will grow in love, and thus become like Christ in his being.

Our Beliefs

We Believe in

In the Triune God, Father, Son and Spirit, three persons but of the same essence, therefore one God who is our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. He is sovereign, powerful and good.

In Jesus Christ, the Son, who is fully God and fully Man. As the perfect Man, he died once and for all in our place, as our substitute, to pay the penalty of our sins when he was crucified on the cross. On the third day, he rose from the dead, demonstrating and declaring victory over Satan, sin and death. By His grace, those who put their faith in Jesus will no longer face condemnation but enjoy an eternal relationship with God.

In the Holy Spirit, who is sent from the Father and the Son to indwell every believer as a seal of ownership that we are the beloved of God. The Spirit of truth will guide us into all truths and as our Comforter, He is an ever present help in trouble.

In the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the infallible Word of God given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit to reveal God and His will to us. They serve as the supreme standard of our faith and conduct.

The Holy church, both universal and local, to have been instituted by the Lord Jesus and that Christ is Head of the Church and all believers are members of His body. Each member of His body is bounded together in Christ regardless how different they may be. Each local church gathers regularly and frequently to worship God and to build up her members so that she is a beacon of light in every dark corner she stands and serves as a channel of God’s love through which many more will be drawn into the fellowship of Christ.

The Holy Word, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Sacraments to be means of grace for our spiritual maturity and transformation so that we grow in holiness and after the likeness of Christ

In the glorious return of Christ to judge the living and the dead, welcomed by those whose righteousness is in Christ but dreaded upon by unbelievers who will have to face the judgment and wrath of a just God.

In all that we do, we strive to bring delight to God’s heart and glory to His Holy name.

Our Roots

Our History

Our roots go back to 1970 when we began as an English Youth fellowship under the Hokkien Church (1939). The church went through a few phases of development with the old sanctuary built in 1959 while the four story extension was added in 1989. The new sanctuary extension was completed in 1997.

“True Way Presbyterian Church – English Congregation” became a fully constituted congregation in November 1992 under the English Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in Singapore.

Rev Dr Graham Ng served as the Senior Minister from 1992 to 2000, Rev Tan Cheng Huat from 2000 to 2013, and Rev Lee Kien Seng from 2013 onwards.
