This year’s prayer retreat topic is “Practising the Presence of God”. The speakers are Mr. John Chong Ser Choon (Teacher, CSF) and Ms Amelia Ang (Director, CSF). CSF = Community for Spiritual Formation.
Biodata of Ser Choon: During a 2-year sabbatical at Regent College (1997–1999, Vancouver) with James M. Houston and Eugene H. Peterson, Ser Choon rethought his Christian life and ministry. After returning to Singapore, he taught Christian Spirituality at a Bible college, then founded this spiritual formation ministry in 2004. Regent College re-grounded his faith, renewing his understanding of God as relational (One yet Three Persons, Father, Son and Spirit, an eternal community in perfect communion) and deepening his appreciation for the church’s wider spiritual heritage beyond the Reformation.
Biodata of Amelia: Amelia is passionate about Spiritual Formation, Leadership Development, and Coaching, with a natural gift for building community and facilitating inner work and deeper conversation in small groups. She joined her first CSF retreat (then Trinity Life Community) in 2007; over a decade of ongoing spiritual wrestling as a Christ-follower has affirmed for her the importance of silence and solitude.
