Outreach Evangelism

This pillar has two arms – evangelism both local and abroad as well as community engagement.

Both constitute our efforts to heed the Great Commission to GO into our community and beyond, sharing the love of Jesus through deed and word. In serving others, we obey Christ’s command to love our neighbours as ourselves and if the opportunity presents itself, we will also share with them the Good News of salvation.

Missions Ministry

We work to plan and organize mission-oriented activities, budget and manage funds for mission work, and assist in the selection, preparation, and placement of missions workers. We are also responsible for taking care of the missionaries we have sent to work with missions agencies/groups. Through educating our congregation, we seek to promote a thoughtful understanding of missions, increase the awareness of missions, and encourage greater participation in missions. Currently, the main focus of our work is reaching the SQ and Thai people.

For members who are interested to go on short-term mission trips, refer to the following document for more information:

Evangelism Ministry

We seek to plan and lead evangelistic events for the church, encourage the congregation to actively participate in evangelism, and partner other ministries in their evangelistic efforts.

The ministry meets before each outreach event for planning, and the extent of it depends on the scale of the event. Other segments of the church, such as disciple groups or ministries, may be enlisted in to contribute to the discussion and eventual execution of the events.

A Basic Christianity (ABC) Class

We desire to help each new Christian to know and understand the basics of the Christian faith and grow in the Christian life. We have a team of A Basic Christianity (ABC) class leaders who are keen to nurture new believers in their faith, by grounding in the basics of the Christianity.

Group ABC classes usually take place on Thursdays or Fridays. For the individual ABC classes, the day and time can be arranged with the respective leaders. We use the Navigators’ “Growing In Christ” Series materials for the ABC classes. A total of 13 sessions is carried out for each Group-based ABC class. The duration for each session is an hour and a half. The ABC leader’s training conducted 3 times a year for those who are keen to lead such a class.

Boys’ Brigade Ministry

Our church supports the Boy’s Brigade Unit of Nan Hua High School (41 Clementi Avenue 1, Singapore 129956). This is a CCA group operating in the school. We want to build up the lives of the boys in this unit by sharing godly values and wisdom with them. Our hope is to see the advancement of the Gospel among boys and the promotion of virtues like obedience, reverence, discipline, respect, and all that tends towards a true Christian personhood.

Prison Fellowship Singapore

Our church is working with Prison Fellowship Singapore (PFS) to bring former inmates and the families of incarcerated persons the love, hope, and comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Care Club x Youth Zone

From organising tuition, to outdoor activities, to Bible education, the youths from our church want to show love and care to the children of the incarcerated. We hope to empower them and see them rise beyond their circumstances and achieve the best they can in life. We also organise holiday programs (e.g., Christmas celebrations) to further engage the children and build bonds on a deeper level.

Family Care

We visit families of inmates, follow up with them, and provide them support. Support can be as simple as a meetup over dinner, or helping them with tele visits. We also serve as a bridge between the families and other voluntary organisations who provide social assistance. Prior to the pandemic, we also organised activities for the families.

After Care

Every first Thursday of the month, our church engages some released inmates for worship, devotion, and Bible discussion. Volunteers take an intentional approach to engaging them and inviting them to Church to worship God together. We will then have lunch before a short devotion. We may also teach them to play musical instruments to build their confidence. As they attempt to reintegrate into society, we hope to be their spiritual and emotional support in this journey.
