Pastoral Care

The ministries under the Pastoral Care pillar focus on the spiritual health and welfare of members.

The backbone of the pillar is the discipleship group ministry. We encourage new members especially to join a discipleship group so that we can get to know you better and attend to your spiritual needs.

Discipleship Group Ministry

Discipleship groups (DGs) meet at least twice a month to sing, pray, and study the Bible together. In each DG, pastoral care is exercised by a DG leader. A cluster of DGs is in turn overseen by a pastor or an elder.

DGs help to organise activities and events around the church. They are also rostered to help with the refreshments at the Cozy Corner on Sundays.

DGs exist in order to

  • Foster an environment for spiritual edification, fellowship, growth, and accountability
  • Provide a platform for disciple making to occur
  • Build depth into the spiritual life of each DG leader to encourage them in their walk with God and their service of God and His people
We Welcome

Social Concern Ministry

We identify and respond to people who may need financial assistance from the church. These people may be members, or their immediate family.

The ministry assesses individual cases through visits and interviews, and if necessary refers them to other agencies for additional help.

We do all these in accordance with the principles laid out in Mathew 25:35–36 and Leviticus 25:35.

Women Ministry

Our focus is on edifying fellow women and equipping them to nurture and serve their families and the church, while providing them with avenues for evangelism.

We do this by hosting talks on women’s needs. We have also held workshops on subjects like flower arrangement, origami, cooking, grooming, and sewing. We hope that through these, our fellow sisters can see themselves as channels of blessing to others and be willing to be of service whenever God calls.

We Welcome

All women in our congregation, with friends, relatives, and colleagues

Every 3rd Saturday in January, March, May, July, September, and November

Cancer Support Ministry

We extend spiritual and emotional care to cancer patients and their caregivers, to help them stay steadfast in the faith on their difficult journey.

We do this through listening to their concerns, hopes, and fears, sharing God’s Word, and praying with them. As needed, we accompany patients to medical appointments or refer them to other support groups or agencies. We also hope to share the love of Christ in practical ways with patients who do not yet know Jesus.

Can I Serve?

We welcome all who have a heart to love and ears to listen. Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Peer Support Ministry

In the Peer Support ministry, the church exercises the “One Another” principle, found in Romans 15:7 (accept one another), 1 Thessalonians 5:15 (seek good for one another), and Galatians 5:13 (through love, serve one another).

We train peer supporters to walk alongside members who suffer from mental stress.

These peer supporters are not substitutes for professional counselling or psychiatric help, but serve to identify those at risk early and link them to professional help if required.

We seek to journey with you regardless of whether professional help is needed.

See the list of our peer supporters here.
