Trust God!

Who shall you trust? When perception fails! When reasoning fails! When all things fail! When you are at a great loss! Whom shall you turn to? Will anyone be kind to help? When people has become less approachable! When people are very wary and suspicious! Who would believe me? I will resolve to do one thing: Turn to the Lord my God. When our Lord Jesus was in great distress, He turned to no one except His Heavenly Father. Likewise, we, His disciples, should imitate Him, turn to our Heavenly Father, lean upon Him and trust Him.

In Psalm 27:4 ESV, I have learnt from the psalmist, “One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.” When I confide in the LORD, I am assured of His tender care and His faithful love. He knows me and understands me. He has been acquainted with my thoughts and my ways. He knows how to deliver His beloved children out of their troubles. The house of the LORD reminds me of His blessed presence. Dwelling in the house of the LORD brings me great delight. I seek after God and submit myself to Him because I know that I can totally trust Him. The beauty of the LORD reminds me of all His wonderful attributes such as His grace and His goodness. It is awesome, astounding and amazing to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD. No one can compare with the LORD my God. No one’s beauty can compare with His. The Lord my God is my bearing, my compass and my direction. I can rest comfortably in His faithfulness and His goodness. In His temple, I can inquire of God freely and gladly. I can also meditate upon the Word of God in His holy temple. “Within the Veil, I now would come. Into Thy holy place, to look upon Thy face; I see such beauty there, none other can compare. I worship Thee, my LORD, within the veil.” This beautiful song captured my mind, flowed through my heart and I sang it prayerfully to the Lord my God yesterday.

In Psalm 62:8 ESV, I have also learnt: “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” God can be trusted! What He says, He will do and accomplish. There is nothing too hard for Him. All things are possible with God. God never fails nor falters. God will not forsake me nor leave me. God is faithful and true. We are instructed by the psalmist in this Bible verse to trust God at all times, that is, to rely totally upon Him without any reservation, and to do it regularly. God is trustworthy. Tell God your concerns and worries. He will handle for you. He will take care for you. He knows you and your struggles and pains. Pour your heart out before God! Do not hold back but be honest with God. He will certainly deliver you. Remember that the LORD our God is a refuge for us. God protects and preserves His children by His mercy and His grace from dangers, evils and faithlessness. When you truly set your heart and mind on Him, His thoughts and His ways, the Lord our God will surround you with His steadfast love. Thank God for watching over us and waiting for us to draw close to Him and to dwell richly in His holy presence, in the holy house of God. Let us not shrink back but let us readily submit ourselves to Him and trust Him, not willing to rely upon our own understanding. Turn your heart to Jesus and He will transform you. He will give you “beauty for ashes”. Thank and praise God! Amen.

Trust God! It is my prayer for all of us that we will place our trust in God and not to waver in our faith in Him. I pray that we will not be distracted but be discerning and decisive in placing our trust completely in Him. Let us commit our thoughts and ways to God and believe that He will bring them to pass in accordance with His good, acceptable and perfect Will for us, His beloved children. Let us commune with God often for He delights to deepen our relationship with Him. Yes, indeed, let us trust God! Amen.
